Q:Who qualifies for assisted living?
  • It is for independent persons who need assistance, it is not for persons needing 24/7 care.
Q:What assistance is offered?
  • 1 hour of care daily depending on the individual needs e.g. showering, making the bed, help getting dressed.
  • 2 weekly blood pressure and urine checks
  • Liaise between doctor and resident regarding care needed
  • Medications are controlled by a Professional nurse
  • 2 bundles of laundry per week i.e. 1 bundle of bed linens and towels and 1 bundle of clothing.
  • 3 course meals at lunch time daily. Breakfast and dinner is self-catering or arranged via the clubhouse at extra cost
  • Mobile panic button that rings at the Frail care duty station
  • Internal phone system
Q:What activity programme is there?
  • The clubhouse offers a social roster and residents are welcome to participate.
  • An occupational therapist provides a group programme twice a week.
Q:Is there parking?
  • Visitor’s parking only.
Q:Is there a garden for mom/dad to enjoy?
  • There are communal gardens in the estate
Q:Is the unit disability/wheelchair friendly?

  • Shower has carer access when help is needed
  • Shower has built in seat
  • Shower has an adjustable hand nozzle for easy use
  • Hand rail by the toilet for support while sitting/standing
  • There is an elevator between floors
  • The unit is open plan for easy wheelchair access
Q:What is included
  • All care listed in point 2.
  • TV points are in place. DSTV will be for your own account.
  • Aircon can be installed at an extra service charge
  • Telephone points are in place. Landline will be for your own account
  • The kitchenette comes with a 3-plate stove/oven, microwave and fridge. All other equipment, crockery and cutlery is self-supplied.
  • The unit is unfurnished
  • Water and electricity included.
Q:Do I pay for meals when I go on vacation?
  • For periods longer than 3 days, please notify the professional nurse on duty in advance when you will be away and when you are expected to return.
Q:What extra costs are there?
  • Medications, doctor’s visits, therapists are for your own account
  • Diapers (which can be arranged from a supplier at a discounted price compared to pharmacies).
  • Hair dressers and beauty therapy services are available via the clubhouse at a discounted rate.
  • Extra meals for the resident and their visitors.
